Who is Jamie O’Brien?
Jamie O’Brien hails from Hawaii’s North Shore and is renowned for his daring surfing style. He started surfing at the age of four and has since become one of the most celebrated surfers in the world, winning numerous competitions. Jamie’s enthusiasm for surfing is infectious, and he loves sharing his expertise and passion with others. This led him to create the Jamie O’Brien School of Surf, allowing people worldwide to experience the joy of surfing in Hawaii.

Lessons are available daily at the following times:

Will you still offer lessons at Turtle Bay, and how will School of Surf be different?
Jamie O’Brien Surf Experience will continue to provide premium surfing experiences at Turtle Bay Resort on the North Shore and at the Hotel Del Coronado in San Diego. The new Jamie O’Brien School of Surf at Twin Fin Waikiki focuses on family and group surf experiences at a more affordable price point compared to the private, premium-priced sessions at other Jamie O’Brien Surf Experience locations. Guests are encouraged to visit both sites while vacationing on Oahu to enjoy the best of both worlds – the iconic, gentle waves of Waikiki Beach at Jamie O’Brien School of Surf and the exclusive, powerful breaks of the North Shore at Turtle Bay Resort.
Does Jamie teach the lessons, or do you work with other instructors?
While Jamie isn’t available for reservations, he frequently makes appearances both in the shop and in the water, surprising guests and sharing their experiences. Our team of top-notch local surf instructors, handpicked by Jamie for their ocean knowledge and surfing expertise, are trained to his exacting standards.
